How far is the Hotel from the airport? 
Approximately one hour from the Hilo or the Kona airport.

Is there bus service?
Yes, but the buses on the Big Island (Hele On bus) are primarily to move local people to their work sites.

Are there any restaurants in town?
There are about a half a dozen and include a health food restaurant, a pizza restaurant (often with live music), a drive in, a sports bar and restaurant. The Hotel restaurant is not open, other than for parties and conferences.

How far is the Hotel from Waipio Valley? 
Eight miles. The street in front of the Hotel ends at Waipio Valley.

How does someone access Waipio Valley? 
There is a visitors' parking lot at the lookout, where cars can park, and visitors can hike into the Valley. Only Four wheel Drive vehicles can drive into the Valley. There are Valley Shuttle vans that can be reserved for a ride in and out of the Valley. Reservations can be made to ride horses or a carriage in the Valley.

How far is the Hotel from the Beach? 
Eight miles from the black sand beach of Waipio Valley; thirty five minutes from Hapuna and Spencer beaches (two of the finest beaches in Hawaii), and two and a half hours from the Green Sand beach.

What is there to do in Honokaa? 
There are many interesting retail shops, three antique shops, an art gallery, a movie theatre (The Peoples Theatre built in 1930), tennis courts, swimming pool, golf course (9 Hole course for $10/day), gymnasium, and track and field.

How do we find the Hotel? 
Take Highway 19 from either Hilo or Kona and get on Highway 240 in Honokaa. The Hotel is on mainstreet (Hwy 240) in Honokaa. Look for the Hotel sign and the plantation mural in front of the Hotel.
